Mean Postoperative Pain in patients with Elective Midline Laparotomies Using Either Scalpel or Diathermy for Incision

Background: During a laparotomy, the midline incision is frequently made with an electrocautery or scalpel. According to studies, there no difference between these procedures' rates of complications. Aim : To assess average postoperative pain in patients who underwent elective laparotomies at Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar using either scalpel diathermy for incision. Methodology: This was randomized controlled trial, which included 60 were divided into two groups random. One group had diathermy, whilst other incisions. On second day, follow-up conducted. Results: In we 63.3% males and 36.7% females while 17 13 females. 40% hypertensive, this ratio group, diabetic 26.7% 16.7% group. Practical implication: Cutting by simpler, quicker, results less blood loss.
